Quote Challenge 1/3

Ahh!!! I have been nominated to do a quote challenge! I’ve been putting it off because I am super lazy. But I do appreciate Shannon for always nominating me for awards and challenges. Sometimes, I’ll never do anything unless I am pushed.

Rules for Three-Day Quote Challenge:

  • Thank the blogger, who nominated you.
  • Publish 3 quotes on 3 consecutive days in your blog. It can be your own, or from a book, movie or from anyone who inspires you. (Yeah, that’s probably not going to happen. But I’ll try to make the post worth your time)
  • Nominate 3 more bloggers to carry on this endeavor. (I will do this after I’ve completed the challenge)

Anyhow, the quote that I find really meaningful is:

Alchemist quote

This is a quote from the book, “The Alchemist”. One of my friends gave me this book for my birthday and it is definitely one of the most powerful, influential books I’ve ever read in my life. As I was reading it, I felt like it was written for me. The author’s perception of life is exactly like mines. It’s as if the author could read my mind.

Anyhow, in the book, it speaks of something known as the Universal Language. The Universal Language is not actually a spoken language, but one that we can all understand without speaking.

In the book, the main character encounters many people during his journey to the Pyramids. At first, he was easily fooled because he was inexperienced. But soon, he learned how to judge someone through the Universal Language. When someone wanted his life, he could see it in their eyes. Likewise, he was able to tell when a person had lost all hope.

In my opinion, the most powerful things are not said. They are felt. There are things that no matter how accurate our choice of words are, one needs to have seen or experienced it in order to fully understand.

Verbal communication is only a fraction of speech. You must pay attention to all the unspoken parts if you truly want to understand the other person.

Sometimes, all you need to do is look into their eyes.

P.S. Please spare 5 minutes to watch the following video.

This video is one of the most meaningful and touching videos I’ve ever seen in my life. My eyes were watering as the images past by. I hope one day, I can be like JianHao (the Singaporean Youtuber) and have such a big impact in the community. It breaks my heart seeing how most of these Orphans were abandoned due to their disabilities. Please make a donation or share this video if you can. If we are all willing to do or give a bit, we can make a big difference.

P.S. I’m not a popular blogger with many followers, but for those of you with a larger audience, you can do a lot. If people are willing to read your blog, they might be willing to open the video.

Perhaps it will touch their hearts, and push them to give a little.
