Ever since I started blogging, I’ve learnt a lot. It’s quite strange because I never thought I could learn anything from recording down my thoughts on a webpage.
Here are some things that I’ve learnt from blogging:
Time – Blogging is something that takes time to grow. It’s not about how many posts you make on that one day/week. In the end, the blogs that are most successful are ones who have devoted themselves to a consistent schedule and are people who blog regularly.

Confidence is an amazing feeling. It makes you feel like you can do anything.
It is power.
It is belief.
It is also posture and energy.
When someone is confident, you can sense it right away. It’s as if there is an invisible shield surrounding him/her. Confident people are usually very good presenters and quite popular. No wonder then, most people want to be confident. But the question is, how?

Story time!! This story has been modified into my own version.
Melissa is feeling very unhappy, unmotivated, and lost. She knows she is alive, but she doesn’t feel like she’s living at all. Everyday, she does the same things over and over again. What makes it worse is that society expects her to be at a certain stage at a certain age. For example, she was expected to go to school until she was an adult. Now, she is expected to find a good stable job, purchase a home, and eventually get marry and start a family. It’s as if there is only one way to live and if she wanted to do things out of the ordinary, she only receives criticisms and disapproval.
But Melissa knows she wants more in life. She decides to attend a motivational speaking presentation in hopes of developing more clarity, passion, and purpose.
As Melissa enters the auditorium, she notices the speaker setting up the stage. She sees a glass of water that is half filled. Oh my goodness, Melissa thinks, he’s going to ask the audience whether the glass is half full or half empty. How typical. What a waste of time. Why do I even bother with these motivational presentations? They’re full of shit. Forget it, I’m leaving.

This following story has been modified as I cannot remember the exact details. However, the message remains the same. Please do not take it literally as it is the message we should be focusing on.
Once, there was a little boy who lived on a farm. Each day, he would have a list of chores to complete. On this particular day, the little boy suddenly had the urge to use the washroom after milking the cows. So, he decided to leave the pail of milk outside while he went indoors to relieve himself. When he came back from the washroom, he noticed that there were frogs jumping and splashing around in his pail of milk. The little boy was furious! The frogs had spoilt his milk! He decided to seek revenge and placed all the frogs in a big pot. He was going to cook them live.
Soon, the frogs began to feel the heat and started jumping up to escape. All of them were jumping, but none of them were able to jump out of the pot. Slowly, one by one, the frogs started giving up. Soon, all of them stopped except for one. Out of the bunch, the smallest frog kept on jumping. All the other frogs were in dismay. They said,
“You’re so tiny. If we can’t jump out, there’s no way you can either. Just give up. We’re all going to die.”
“Why are you even trying? The pot is too high. It’s impossible.”
“You’re not going to make it.”

I saw this via facebook and I feel like this is relevant to all of us regardless of whether you’re an entrepreneur or not.
I also want to share a quote I read online the other day,
“I never lose. I either win or I learn.”

Note: One of my managers told me this story at work. It is very simple, but contains deep meaning.
It was a cold wintery night, and two families were suffering from starvation. They were so hungry and begged God for a miracle. Suddenly, both families received a knock at the door. A kind gentleman was generously distributing chickens around the area. He gave each household a chicken.
Both families were very grateful and could not believe their luck. Family A thought, “Finally! We have waited for far too long. Time for this suffering to end. Let’s eat!” And so, they quickly slaughtered the chicken and gobbled it up. They were SO hungry.
However, Family B took a different set of approach. Family B thought, “No, we mustn’t eat the chicken yet. We still have some scraps left. We can still survive…even if it means we must suffer a bit longer. Let’s take care of the chicken first and wait for it to grow. It will be worth it.”

She inspires me daily and encourages me to do the same. Hence, I have decided to create this blog to share my experiences and growth with all of you. I hope you will enjoy reading my posts! 🙂
Today I would like to talk about persistence. My definition of persistence is:
“Regardless of how many times I may fail, I’m not stopping until I reach my goal.”
Persistence is a very powerful force. It can allow us to achieve things that seemed impossible at the beginning. However, in order to be persistent in something, we have to have a purpose. There has to be a strong WHY. Why are you doing what you’re doing? How badly do you want it? What are you willing to endure?
