Should you be allowed to hang out alone with the opposite sex if you’re in a relationship?

talking with the opposite gender

This is another controversial topic. I’m going to share both side of the arguments before stating what I think.

Why you shouldn’t be allowed

+ There are no reasons why you need to see your friend alone. You shouldn’t be sharing things with him/her that you wouldn’t be sharing with me.

+ Men and women cannot be friends. Even if you do not like him/her, he/she probably likes you.

+ It’s not that I don’t trust you. I don’t trust him/her.

+ I should be more important than your friend. Is our relationship more important, or your friendship?

Why you should be allowed

+ She/he was in your life before your partner came in. You used to hang out alone all the time.

+ You guys are honestly just friends.

+ Your partner should trust you enough to be ok with you hanging out with the opposite sex.

+ You shouldn’t have to bring your partner everywhere.

——-

I can see the points from both side of the argument. Personally, I would be extremely upset if I had to choose between my guy friends or my partner. I have many guy friends, and there are some I’ve been friends with since elementary school. In my opinion, it is unfair if I cannot even have a coffee with a friend I have known for 20 years without my partner being there. I would feel offended because I would feel like he doesn’t trust me.

However, I do believe that the frequency of the meetups play a very strong factor. Obviously, if I were to see my guy friends alone on a regular basis, it is inappropriate. But if I were to only meet up once or twice a year,  I think it should be acceptable. (Note: This is my personal opinion)

I do have friends who do not allow their partners to see anyone of the opposite sex though. In their opinion, they want to ensure that nothing can ever occur between their partner and their partner’s friends. Therefore, by not ever allowing them to be alone together, they can minimize any possibilities.

Some people are insecure based on past experiences. If they have been cheated on in the past, they probably won’t let you see friends of the opposite sex (alone or in groups). If they do not believe men and women could be friends, they will most likely be against it as well.

Basically, everyone’s comfort level is different. If you have a lot of friends of the opposite sex, you should tell your partner initially. Sometimes, you’re going to have to compromise. Communicate and come up with something that both of you can agree on.

What are your thoughts??

Zui Wu Dao. Vol 2 -Chapter 41.

To my dear readers,

Sorry for the wait. Although I am lazy, the main reason why I haven’t translated is because I have been very exhausted and sick. Nonetheless, I finally feel a bit better, so here I am with chapter 41. This chapter was easy to translate. 🙂

Please support me by donating or clicking some ads/disabling adblock or giving me a good rating on novelupdates. lol…omg someone gave a rating of 1/5 *cries* It makes me very sad because I don’t think I or the novel deserve such low ratings.

Chapter 41     Father and Son

Xuan Luo’s speed was already super fast. He didn’t care about the injury on his hand. Currently, all he was thinking about was whether the villagers from Qian Deng Zhen were under the control of Shen Tui Men. He was especially worried for his Stepfather and Master Li.

The colour of the sky indicated that it was near sunset. However, that did not hinder Xuan Luo. Since he had left Xia Luo village, he basically hasn’t taken a rest. He wanted to get to Qian Deng Zhen as quickly as possible.

Xuan Luo also hasn’t eaten anything all day. But to him, eating was not considered an important matter. While he was practicing martial arts, he would often forget to eat. Generally, to martial artists, eating was something that could totally be skipped and it wouldn’t affect them very much.

By the time Xuan Luo arrived at the entrance of his village, the Sun had set. Instead, the bright moon had taken its place.

Shaming

Shaming

For the week, I would like to talk about shaming.

Shaming happens everywhere. Shaming is when you make a person feel ashamed, humiliated, or inadequate. It is terrible, but in China (or perhaps in all of Asia), they take it to another level.

What do I mean? Well, in school, students are ranked according to their grades. The teacher will actually read out each person’s name and their “rank” to the whole class. For example, #36 (name of the child).

If you are one of the top students, you will be praised. However, if you are one of the poorer students, your classmates will look down on you and may possibly make fun or avoid you (in case you make them stupid).

It’s messed up.

I still remember how one of my classmates had forgotten his agenda in Grade 1. The teacher punished him by making him stand outside the classroom for an hour.

Basically, the “shame” is supposed to make the child never forget his agenda again.

In my opinion, it does work. However, instead of fostering love and kindness, the child is taught to resent and hate.

Zui Wu Dao. Vol 2 -Chapter 40.

To my dear readers,

I’m so sorry. I’ve been so demotivated lately. I don’t even have motivation to blog my own regular blog posts..:(   Nonetheless, I hope you like this chapter. It sounds much better in Chinese though. *sigh*

By the way, my numbers came in for February and I only made $13.70 from ads (I had over 40000 views in Feb). WordPress doesn’t pay me until I hit $100. At this rate, I don’t even know if I will get anything until winter…*cries*.  Technically, if none of my readers use adblock, I should get around $10 for every 10000 views…please help me by clicking an ad or something. I would appreciate that very much. Please help me because:

1. Although I’m a slow translator, I still try to put a lot of effort in every chapter.
2. This is free for all of you to read. I have already read it in Chinese. But I still chose to spend hundreds of hours translating for you. Donations would be much appreciated!!!
3. Just help me, because we should help each other 😉   Thanks everyone. ❤

Chapter 40     Shen Tui Men’s Greed

Because Xuan Luo stepped in, the disciples from Shen Tui Men had no choice but to leave. The second dang jia had lost his life. Who would have thought?

But Shen Tui Men have always been arrogant; they often targetted the weak and young -death cannot wipe out the crimes they have committed.

The skin on Xuan Luo’s wrist had totally been flipped open. The villagers were very grateful towards Xuan Luo for stepping out to help them. They didn’t say it verbally though; it was something they kept within their hearts.

“Ah! So painful!” Xuan Luo didn’t feel the pain on his hand during the fight. However, now, the pain was abnormally intense.

At least, the incident at the village had been dealt with. Sadly, Hu Zi’s left arm was totally gone. He was now a person of disability. Once Shen Tui Men left, the villagers quickly carried Hu Zi to the old man’s straw room. Xuan Luo’s condition looked much more optimistic. He did lose some blood, but it was torn skin only.
