Zui Wu Dao. Vol 2 -Chapter 27.

To my dear readers,

This chapter took SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LONG. It was SOOOOOOO HARD. I had to adjust a lot of stuff but it’s still really good. I hope you really like it. Please donate to support me if you can. This chapter took 5 hours of my life. I put a lot of effort into making it as smooth as possible for all of you to read.

Chapter 27     Single Elimination Open Tournament: Round One

“Old man…” Xuan Luo quietly murmured. Seeing Tian Yu Zi act like this, Xuan Luo felt an emotion he could not explain. Perhaps it was because they had spent two years day and night; his attachment towards Tian Yu Zi had deepen. Aside from Guan Shan Jue, Tian Yu Zi was the other person in his heart.

“You little monkey! If you don’t kick their ass, I’m not going to be done with you! I’m going to die from anger!” Originally, Xuan Luo wanted to comfort Tian Yu Zi; but his words shocked him. He was lying down and he still got shot? (He wasn’t actually shot. He just meant Tian Yu Zi was angry at him even though he didn’t do anything) What the heck.

It wasn’t surprising that Tian Yu Zi was so angry. He was fed up with Chun Yang Palace’s bullying.

“Forget it. Let’s go. This time, no matter what, we have to get Zi Yang Palace’s face back!” (The concept of face mainly has to do with pride). Xuan Yuan Duan Ai consoled on the side.

“Yes!” Xuan Luo and Tang Chen both agreed. Regardless, they must win back their face!

To my dear readers,

This chapter was very awkward to translate towards the end. You will see what I mean. It sounds really strange because no one would talk like that in English. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy.

By the way, I was actually recruited to translate for a team last month. I told him I needed some time to think about it, and I am supposed to give my response soon. Honestly, I don’t know. I feel like it’s a good opportunity because I would be able to work with other people and perhaps meet other translators as well. But at the same time, the thought of translating daily is horrifying because of how difficult it is. I only do two per week and I go partially nuts. Obviously, I want to get paid for my time. But I have already figured that’s probably not going to happen unless my readers are all addicted. *sigh*. And even so, who wants to pay when you can get it for free? lol I would never pay to watch dramas online.

I am still thinking. I want to finish this first though.

Anyhow, this is the chapter in Chinese

Chapter 26     To provoke

Today, the atmosphere in Zi Yang Palace was different from the usual. Everyone’s attention was centralized on Tian Yu Zi.

“Xuan Yuan Duan Ai, Xuan Luo, and Tang Chen will be representing us for the competition.” said Tian Yu Zi sternly as he stood in the centre of the main hall.

The disciples honestly didn’t have much confidence in regards to the competition. Of course, that didn’t include Xuan Luo and them. Xuan Luo believed he was prepared for the competition.

“Old man. Why are you talking so much rubbish? You’re making this too serious!” Xuan Luo pouted. He said it bluntly despite the occasion.

To my dear readers,

This chapter was so long and it took me forever. I wish they would just talk. Haha. Dialogue is so much easier. If it sounds a bit awkward, I’m sorry.

I know I only translate two chapters a week, but you’d be surprise how difficult it is for me to continue. I want to quit everyday. HAHA. I would read the chapter in Chinese and think, “Omg. Too hard. Screw this.” And go do something else. LOL

Anyway, hope you appreciate and donate if you want to make me happier. ❤

Chapter 25     Comparing skills

Seeing Tang Chen about to strike, Xuan Luo couldn’t help but feel slightly anxious. He could tell, based on Tang Chen’s fists that he was either at ‘success’ or close to it; just like himself.

Tang Chen’s quan fa was not like his Tai Chi fist. The yin and yang of the Tai Chi fist made it seem like it had no strength, but really, it borrows other people’s strengths. Whereas, Tang Chen’s fists had an immediate threat and power to it. Xuan Luo was extremely startled.

Subconsciously, Xuan Luo’s heart sighed. If Zi Yang Palace had someone like Tang Chen, how did they end up like this?

But now was not the time to think. Tang Chen’s fierce attack was going to touch him at any second.

To my dear readers,

Thank you to Maria Lester for your donation!! This is the 2nd time I have received a donation. I am so grateful for your support. It really means a lot to me. ❤   Honestly, it takes me so many hours to translate…sometimes, I really ask myself if it’s worth it. But whenever I get donations, my heart lights up. 🙂

Anyhow, I am actually quite pleased with my translation for this chapter. Hopefully the grammar is okay. I do read it over a few times but it might still have some mistakes. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy!

Chapter 24     Tang Chen

The “Zhen fa for three” combined the Heaven, the Earth, and the Man. During the zhen fa, it required the Martial artists to be extremely compatible with one another; that was the only way if the goal was to attack and defend. However, once someone could see through the zhen fa, it will be destroyed automatically.

There were many zhen fa in jiang hu. The “Zhen fa for three” was one of the most basics of its kind, although it did have certain requirements. Since Zi Yang Palace focused on style, “Zhen fa for three” was the best zhen fa because it could substantially increase the power of the attack. The movements of the Heaven, Earth, and the Man constantly changes; which made it difficult for people to see and break through.

To my dear readers,

This chapter was so hard for me. Honestly, if you can read Chinese, you will see that I have skipped some sentences (because it just wouldn’t flow or didn’t make sense OR it was just not important). I also changed a lot of the technical words because I just don’t know how to translate it. Sorry. This is as close as I can get.

It is very, very hard. (You have no idea how hard)

Chapter 23     Zhen Fa for Three

With thick skin, Xuan Luo followed Xuan Yuan Duan Ai into the building. This task Tian Yu Zi had given him is no easy task. He honestly didn’t know how he should react. He still needed to find out the rules and details from Xuan Yuan Duan Ai.

“Duan Ai xiong, what are the rules of the competition?”

“Tian Yu Zi zhang lao wants you to compete in the competition?” Xuan Yuan Duan Ai curiously questioned.

To my dear readers,

Sigh. Translating is no easy commitment. I wonder how long I can survive in this field. (online field). I honestly don’t know…

By the way, in Canada, our spelling is a mixture of UK and US. It’s kind of funny. We use the “ize” like Americans (realize, recognize, etc). But we also use the “our” like the English (colour, favourite, etc). There are other examples too but my brain cannot think right now. Anyhow, I hope you like this chapter. It took me a very long time.

Remember, it’s never 100% accurate. I would say 90%.

Chapter 22     Cold and Empty

Zi Yang Palace

Zi Yang Palace rested on Wu Dang’s northeast direction, while Chun Yang Palace was on the northwest direction. The two palaces were quite far apart from each other. Wu Dang was known for their balance of Yin and Yang. Therefore, even the architectures here had to be balanced. However, the ba gua diagram could not be totally balanced (since it is round).

Xuan Luo did not realize Zi Yang Palace was in such a bad shape until he had arrived. However, he had never seen Chun Yang Palace either; so it wasn’t like he had something to compare with. But this sight alone was already blinding to his eyes.

To my dear readers,

I struggled so much with this chapter. In fact, I couldn’t translate all the sentences. It wasn’t that there were many new terms, I just don’t know how to translate it from Chinese to English.

Ex. 因祸得福 means something bad was supposed to happen, but instead you gained something out of it. But how the heck do I put that within a sentence? There are so many meaningful phrases but they appear in the middle of a sentence, which makes it nearly impossible for me to translate it correctly. *sigh*

It is so hard and frustrating. And by the way, it turns out that I make $0.00105 for every impression I get from ads. That means, if you views my page 10 times, assuming you don’t have adblock, I would get a penny. A PENNY. How sad is that? They don’t even make pennies in Canada anymore (because it cost more than a penny to make a penny, haha).

Life of a poor translator. *sigh* (yeah, I’m in a bad mood. And this chapter is not that interesting either)

Anyhow, here is this chapter in Chinese.

Chapter 21     Chun Yang Palace and Zi Yang Palace

“What is it?” Xuan Luo halted. During the past two years, aside from when Tian Yu Zi was coaching him, Tian Yu Zi usually had a mischievous smile on his face. Therefore, whenever Tian Yu Zi became serious, he really paid attention. Even if he had questions, he will wait until Tian Yu Zi was finished.

“Do you recall when you first arrived, I told you that Wu Dang has been separated into two different groups? This is what I want to talk about.” Tian Yu Zi continued, “The two groups are Chun Yang Palace and Zi Yang Palace; Chun Yang Palace focuses nei li, while using style to assist. Whereas Zi Yang Palace focuses on style, while using nei li to assist. Continue reading “Zui Wu Dao. Vol 2 -Chapter 21.”

To my dear readers,

Firstly, I would like to thank Furrlo Rogers for your generous donation! I have never received a donation for my translations, and it means so much to me. Someone actually appreciates my work enough to pay me *cries*.

Honestly, I have spent roughly 100 hours translating so far (yes, I keep track). I know it may seem like nothing compared to other translators who have spent thousands of hours, but it’s 100 hours I would never get back. Therefore, if you guys appreciate me, donate! (Hehe, don’t worry. I will still translate even if I get no money.)

Secondly, most of you are probably unaware unless you read my personal posts, but I have an autoimmune disorder. As a result, some days I am in too much physical pain to do anything. Please forgive me if I disappear for a bit. I will try not to leave you guys waiting for too long.

Chapter 20     Two years

In the courtyard, a teenager wearing a white Taoist uniform stood as still as a pine tree. As he stood, his eyes were filled with fury as he stared at the old man in front of him. On the other hand, the old man’s face did not show much emotions; except his smile hung on.

Two years had gone by very quickly. During these two years, Xuan Luo basically did not leave the courtyard. Each day, he spends the whole day practicing the Tai Chi fist. He has become very skillful at it; from the boy who only had style and no meaning, he has now gone through a massive transformation.

The old man was Tian Yu Zi. His attire had not changed, but his famous smile remained on his face.

To my dear readers,

This chapter was one of the HARDEST chapters I have ever translated. (You will see why). It is soooo technical and I was like, in my mind, “Seriously? I can’t do this. I don’t know, man. Just figure it out on your own. I don’t know Tai Chi.” Haha. But of course, I can’t do that to you guys, so I tried to translate it to the best of my abilities. Hope you guys can kind of picture it in your head while reading.

Anyhow, if you want to read it in Chinese, you can read it here.

Chapter 19     Tai Chi Fist

“Hmm, not bad. Looks like you have a good foundation. But it’s still missing something. You have style but no meaning. Regardless, good job!” The moment Xuan Luo finished practicing, Tian Yu Zi spoke up.

There was still much for Xuan Luo to understand, but hearing the compliment, Xuan Luo gave himself a thumbs up. He proudly beamed, “Of course!”

“But old man, what kind of fist is this? You’re not seriously teaching me this, are you?”

“Haha. What’s wrong with this fist?” Tian Yu Zi refuted.

To my dear readers,

Thank you for being patient with me. I haven’t been feeling too well and on top of that, I just keep avoiding to translate because it is so hard (mentally draining). Even my mom is complaining I’m too slow (she reads my blog on a tablet). I told her, just read the Chinese version on your own! Haha. She cannot read English anyway, so she uses google translate to translate my blog into Chinese. Sometimes, the grammar is all over the place and she gets a headache. Haha.

Anyhow, here is Chapter 18. By the way, this chapter was very poetic. Some of the words like “似懂非懂” “形易学,意难懂”, sounds so much better/wiser in Chinese. When I translate it literally, “Seems to understand but not understand” It just sounds stupid. “Form is easy to learn, meaning is hard to understand” doesn’t sound good either. 😦

Chapter 18     Practicing

In Tian Yu Zi’s opinion, Xuan Luo seemed to understand…but not really. However, compared to before, he was much better; originally, Xuan Luo was like a blank slate.

Xuan Luo still had doubt within his heart, but since Tian Yu Zi was asleep, he did not want to disturb him. Hence, he went off to the side to reflect on what he had learnt.

“A sword fighter should practice the fist first; the fist is part of our body, while the sword is an extension of our body’s outer strength…”

But Xuan Luo was conflicted. Why couldn’t he just go straight to practicing the sword? Why must he practice the fist first? The question remained unanswered inside Xuan Luo’s stomach.

Tian Yu Zi’s nap lasted the whole afternoon. By the time he awoke, it was night time. The night sky of Wu Dang had no firelight. There was only starlight. By now, most of the disciples had gone to bed. In the Clan, most of them were disciplined to wake up at 5am and go to bed by 9pm.
