Zui Wu Dao. Part 1 -Chapter 2

To my dear readers,

I have translated Chapter 2 for you guys! I am trying to minimize the 3rd person usage. They keep doing that in the book, but it sounds ridiculous in English. I hope it flows better now. This chapter took me a very long time to translate, but I think the fight scene is worth it! I hope you guys like it.

This is the Chinese version

Please check out my post on BUILDING CONFIDENCE. I believe having some self-confidence is very important! I want you guys to feel good about yourselves (I will promote one of my posts each time I upload a chapter, haha)

Feel free to comment!

Chapter 2       Anger

The early morning sky had already began to turn pale. Xuan Luo had remained on the roof the entire night. When he got up, he realized his clothes were covered in dew. Smiling, he directly jumped off the roof, landing steadily on the ground.

There was no one in the room. Judging from the time, he knew that Guan Shan Jue must have gone to the restaurant. The year he was eight, he fainted outside his house. Guan Shan Jue, showing kindness, took care of him for a few days until he woke up.

But when he woke up, it was as if he lost all his memory. He could only recall his name, nothing else. Guan Shan Jue was speechless. Since he had no child of his own, he decided to raise him as his child. It had been five years since he became his stepfather.   Continue reading “Zui Wu Dao. Part 1 -Chapter 2”

What is Success?

This week, I would like to talk about success. Please pause and take a moment to think about it. What does success mean to you?

In my opinion, in today’s society, we are too consumed by money. It seems like money is what we use to define someone who is “successful”. The more money you have, the more things you have, the more you are “winning” in life.

While I do believe money is important, I believe the process of attaining the money is important as well. What do I mean by that?

Well, are you satisfied with your job? What are you trading in order to get the money? Continue reading “What is Success?”

Zui Wu Dao. Part 1 -Chapter 1

To my dear readers,

I am going to be translating a Chinese internet novel called Zui Wu Dao due to demand. I will be posting a translated chapter twice a week. This is just for leisure and for me to practice my Chinese/English skills. The original content can be found here

The author posted his book on multiple Chinese sites because he wants more viewership. The book is free to read online for anyone who is interested in Wuxia novels. By translating, perhaps both of us can also get more exposure. Anyhow, this will not affect my weekly Monday post. Feel free to read and give me suggestions.

P.S. It takes me about three to six hours to translate a chapter because my Chinese is not that great (I suck T___T). Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy.

By the way, the story doesn’t start getting better until after you finish reading the first 10 chapters. So keep reading, or you will be disappointed!!!

Relationship Goals

Relationship goals

This week’s post is inspired by my friend’s loving relationship with her boyfriend. She wants to stay anonymous, so let’s call her “Justine” and her man, “Justin”. Haha.

Justine and Justin always seem so happy together. They never appear to have any arguments, and it seems like they’re still in their honeymoon stage after 6 years of dating. It’s as if their relationship is perfect.

I started to observe them. I wanted to know what it is that makes their relationship so successful.

Born To Win

It turns out that my Uncle Aaron reads my blog!!!! He checks my facebook weekly for my new post! I am quite delighted and surprised because I never knew I had a secret fan. (Hehe, thanks Uncle!) Anyhow, my uncle recommended a book called, “Born To Win” to me, and he gave me his copy from 40 years ago! Currently, I’m still in the process of reading it but it’s very interesting. I am actually taking notes as I read it. Haha. It is a book on psychology, and there are many experiments and exercises you can do that allows you to become more aware of the person that you are.

There are two topics that especially stood out to me, and I want to share it with my readers.

My flaws

Flaws

I have many flaws. Today, I will share some of them with you:

1. Too motherly

A lot of my friends have complained to me stating that I nag them too much. I agree. I honestly do not intend to nag you guys so often. I will work on it.

Some common feedback:

“You’re like my mom.”

“You’re worse than my mom.”

Taking Responsibility

Responsible

This is a topic that has been on my mind for quite some time. In life, we have a tendency to blame others for our problems or failures. When something doesn’t go the way we want it to, it’s usually, “Oh, it’s because of ________.” Or it’s because ________ happened”.

Most of us rarely admit, “It’s our fault.”

That is because, we don’t like thinking it’s our fault.

We blame everyone but ourselves.

For example, if you had a bad professor and you did poorly in the class, you might say, “It’s because of the prof! He/she can’t teach! It’s so unfair. He/she is totally biased.” And so on.

However, stop for a minute and ask yourself.

What did you do?

Did you attend every class?

If you did, were you paying attention?

Did you procrastinate on your assignment?

There are many factors that could affect your grade. Yes, perhaps the professor was bad, but you were the one who made the choice to attend class or not; to pay attention or not; to procrastinate or not.

You are responsible for your own actions.

Remember, bad things happen to everyone, but you do not have to react a certain way.

If you blame everyone else for your problems, you are literally saying you have no control over your life. Don’t allow others to dictate your life. Be the driver of your emotions.

In addition, if people can sense how you will react, they can easily choose to manipulate you. Think about it. Those who are successful are not easily fazed.

Accountable

P.S. I have another award nomination post that I will be posting this coming week! (Basically, I have to answer some questions about myself, haha) So if you want to find out more about me, stay tuned! I was nominated 2 weeks ago but I had to complete the quote challenge first.

Check out my quote challenge, guys!

Quote Challenge 3/3

This is my last post for the quote challenge.

Tuesdays with Morrie quote

This quote is from “Tuesdays with Morrie”, one of my favourite books. I really like this quote because it’s so true. We all know we’re going to die one day, but in our minds, that’s not going to happen for another 50-70 years (depending how long you think you’re going to live).

As a result, most people continue living the same way that they’ve always lived.
